13th January: Nildottie to Big Bend

Today we enjoyed a quiet morning cruising past the sandstone cliffs, which were spectacular in colour and size.  We moored at Big Bend about 4pm for a woolshed tour on Sunnydale Farm.  The woolshed tour was lots of fun with sheep shorn in odd ways – poodles; tufts of wool left in odd places and then dyed bright colours.  The farm is also a halfway house for wild animal rehabilitation after illness or injury.  We got to pat, ooh and ah over kangaroo’s with joeys, alpacas, and wombats.

The evening meal was a barbecue on the banks of the river, dancing, marshmallows on sticks and tall stories around the fire; very relaxing and enjoyable.
