5th and 6th July 2013: Tok to Dawson City

Today we continue or journey to Dawson City, site of the world’s greatest gold rush stampede in the late 1800’s.

Travel the Taylor and Top of the World’s Highways with a stop at the tiny town of Chicken before crossing the US/Canadian Border and entering the Yukon Territory.

After passing through customs we booked in to our accommodation in the heart of downtown and tonight we were entertained by the Diamond Tooth Gerties show.

Day 2 – We joined our Tales of Dawson City Tour which started with a drive around historic Dawson City.  Along our journey our guide pointed out some of the original gold rush era buildings that are still standing along its board walks.

We stopped at the historic Robert Service Cabin where we visited with a costumed Parks Canada interpreter, who recited some of Robert Services most famous works.

Then we headed out-of-town to see Gold Dredge No 4 and Discovery Claim where the gold was discovered
