New Norcia was next and what a beautiful experience, being the only monastic town in Australia, the ambiance was so serene. The Benedictine Monks own and run the town which consists of their monastery, accommodation house, hotel, two boarding schools accommodation buildings and associated chapels, school rooms, conference centre, library, museum, art gallery and gift shop.
There is also a few building being renovated as museums; for example the old wheat grinding mill, cottages and churches. Derick and spent hours in the museum and still didn’t see everything, went on the two hour town tour which was very informative and interesting. I would like to return to the town and do it all again one day, just loved the experience.
